Stephen Clark named as Planned Giving and Endowment Officer
Stephen Clark has been named as the Planned Giving and Endowment officer for the Virginia United Methodist Foundation effective June1, 2012 according to Dave Thompson, Foundation President.
Steph, as he likes to be called, graduated from Houghton College in Houghton, NY with a BS in Ministerial Studies in May 1973. He followed in his father's footsteps, who had served as a pastor in the Christian and Missionary Alliance, and was ordained to serve the church in an administrative capacity. For the past 18 years Steph has worked with a number of primarily faith based non-profit organizations in leadership and legacy fundraising capacities. He has pursued continuing education courses at the National Planned Giving Institute at the College of William and Mary, the American College at Bryn Mawr, Pa. and various training seminars offered by Crescendo Interactive, all focused on the area of planned giving.
Steph and his wife Paula will be moving from their home in Florida to live in Glen Allen. Dave Thompson in announcing Steph's appointment to this position to the Foundation Board said,“Steph in my judgment combines excellent technical skills with a devout and humble perspective aimed at building God's kingdom through the Foundation&339;s mission in helping the churches in the Conference with their long term objectives of gaining Disciples for Christ through endowments, planned giving and investment management.“
